This self-adhesive transition profile by Genesis bridges joints and height differences between two floor finishes and is installed after the flooring is laid. Thanks to the self-adhesive strip, mechanical fastening is not required. The profile is suitable for hard and smooth flooring. This version is 8 mm high. The finish is matte silver.
Product & function
The profile is extruded from AA 6063 T6 aluminium and anodised according to DIN 17611. For outdoor use, the manufacturer recommends a powder-coated finish.
Application & compatibility
The profile is intended for transitions between floor finishes and is installed on an existing floor or step. Choose the version in the width and height that suit the transition. We do not supply corner pieces for this series. Cut the corner at a 45-degree miter; using a miter box will help you maintain a controlled angle.
Use & key points
- Thoroughly clean the substrate. Dirt and grease will prevent the adhesive strip from bonding.
- The adhesive strip only bonds to a smooth, hard and dry substrate.
- Determine the position, remove the protective film and press the profile firmly into place along its entire length.
Aluminium is sensitive to alkalis. Cement-based materials become alkaline when combined with moisture, so remove adhesive and grout residues from visible surfaces and ensure the profile is fully embedded. In the event of chemical or mechanical loading, first check whether aluminium is suitable for the situation. No special maintenance is required. An oxide film can be removed with a standard polishing agent, but it will return. Damaged anodising can only be repaired by recoating.

Frequently asked questions
Which profile thickness do I need? The thickness of the profile matches the thickness of your tile. Measure the tile and choose the version that fits; the profile must not protrude above the tile surface.
Can this profile withstand moisture? Aluminium is resistant to normal moisture exposure in bathrooms and kitchens. However, be aware of fresh cement and grout residues: they become alkaline when combined with moisture and can damage the surface. Wipe them away before they have hardened.
What does the adhesive strip bond to? The strip only bonds to a smooth, hard and dry substrate. First thoroughly clean the surface; dirt and grease will prevent bonding.
Can I cut this profile to size? Yes. Cut the profile with a fine-toothed saw and neatly finish the cut edge.
